Michael moderated the "Writing the Detective" discussion panel at this year's Killer Nashville. He shared the stage with James L'Etoile, Marcy McCreary, K. L. Murphy, Bruce Robert Coffin, and Royce Wilson.

Michael will be the Panel Master for the "Onsite, Online, or On the Job: Researching Your Novel" panel at ThrillerFest on Saturday, June 3 at 8:00 AM.

Michael was one of the author featured at a Sisters In Crime event at the Norristown Public Library. Joining him were Lisa Regan, Matty Dalrymple, James McCrone, and Janis Wilson.

Michael spoke about the various ways he keeps readers in suspense at the Gloucester County Library in New Jersey for a "Meet the Author" event.

Michael was the panel master for a discussion on doing research for novels. Joining him were Tony Wirt, Mysti Berry, Polly Stewart, Brian Nelson, and Melissa Larsen.

Michael read an exclusive short story at the Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery's "An Evening of Noir" event. He was joined by Matty Dalrymple, Jane Gorman, James McCrone, Tom Joyce, and Gary Zenker.
