THERAPY by Sebastian Fitzek

When Viktor Larenz’s 12-year-old daughter vanishes without a trace, his life spirals into chaos. His marriage crumbles, and he retreats to a remote North Sea island seeking solace in the aftermath. However, his fragile peace is shattered by the arrival of Anna Glass, a schizophrenic novelist. Intrigued by her rare illness, especially when she reveals she’s writing about a young girl who disappeared like Viktor’s daughter, Anna’s delusions pique Viktor’s curiosity. Could they hold the key to uncovering what happened to his daughter?

THERAPY is a captivating read, especially if you enjoy stories driven by underlying psychological complexities. While it may take a bit of time to get into the rhythm, the overall pacing is excellent. The tension builds gradually, reaching its peak before racing downhill toward an unpredictable climax that’s impossible to anticipate.

Fitzek’s writing style is sparse yet intense, every word purposeful and impactful. The chapters are concise yet well-crafted, propelling the story forward, pausing for dramatic effect, and ending on cliffhangers that entice the reader to turn the page.

THERAPY is a treasure trove of psychological thrills and a riveting plot. The dark and claustrophobic atmosphere immerses the reader in a mind-blowing journey that leaves them spellbound.
